Job Interview Tips Sheet


  • Dress appropriately — no shorts, t-shirts or sandals.

  • Know your resume.

  • Be ready to add some flavor, color and a personal story to it.

  • Be prepared to tell them what makes you different!

  • Arrive on time.

  • Turn OFF your mobile phone.

  • No texting while waiting for — or during the interview.

  • Give an appropriately firm handshake as you arrive and leave.

  • Look at the person directly in the eyes when you speak.

  • Be honest, clear and direct.

  • It is OK to say, “I don’t know. I will need to get back to you.”

  • Ask questions about the job using the interviewer’s name.
